Ep 15:
Everyone in the Cohen house is feeling that Hailey is beginning to overstay her welcome. They all agree that she needs to get out of the house and do something with herself, before they, and she, all go mad. Seth also tells Ryan that he needs some more Ryan-Seth time, he's feeling left out. At school, Anna and Seth try and figure out how to tell Summer that they are a couple. Summer is still a bit snappy with Seth but is friendly with Anna, and Anna feels guilty about lying to her.
Back at the Cohen's, Jimmy drops by to find Hailey Nichol home and all grown up. Sandy complains to Kirsten that she is mooching off of them, and needs to get out and make her own money. Jimmy and Hailey discover they have a lot in common. They are both broke, and Hailey's father is sleeping with Jimmy's ex-wife. Ryan sees Luke at school and discovers that Luke's tire has been slashed. Seems he isn't very popular at school now that everyone knows his father is gay. Silly, but so goes high school. Ryan invites Luke over to the Cohen's as he feels sorry for him. Then Marissa calls and invites Seth, Ryan, and Luke over to Oliver's penthouse. They go over for the evening, and Ryan feels increasingly left out as everyone else discusses their rich life and experiences to boot. Oliver invites everyone to go and see a concert the next night, turns out he knows the band Rooney, personally.
The next morning, Ryan and Seth discuss how Seth is going to tell Summer about his relationship with Anna. Hailey comes in and overhears that they are going to the Rooney concert by way of Oliver. She then implants the thought into Ryan's head that perhaps "Natalie", Oliver's girlfriend, doesn't really exist. Later, Ryan shows his hesitation about the concert, and Oliver, but Marissa convinces him to go. When the group gets to the concert hall though, they discover that Oliver is not on the list at the door, and he appears to be a no-show. To make things worse, Summer shows up, and makes things between Anna and Seth uncomfortable. The group decides to leave, but on their way, they see Oliver at the back door, where the band is entering. He wasn't lying after all. BUT, Natalie IS a no-show, and Ryan doesn't like it. Inside, Luke turns out to be a huge geek, and he sings some songs he's written. Summer asks if she can hang out with Seth and Anna, she's feeling left out because Marissa is with Ryan. Outside, Oliver calls his drug dealer, and awaits his delivery.
Back at the Cohen house, a night of board games turns ugly when Sandy confronts Hailey about her mooching ways. Jimmy tries to stand up for her but Hailey storms out when she realizes Kirsten feels the same way. Jimmy goes to leave but Hailey catches up and he decides to sit and chat for a while. They discover that they would both like to be back in the innocent days of high school. Then they kiss. Hailey admits she's always had a crush on Jimmy. But he tell her he can't be with her because she is Kirsten's sister and neither of them need any more controversy. Hailey is disappointed, but backs off.
At the concert, Ryan asks Marissa why she likes hanging out with Oliver. Marissa tells him that he is free to leave, she knows he didn't want to be there. So he does. On his way out he see Oliver being arrested by an undercover police officer for buying cocaine. Ryan does the right thing and calls Sandy for help. After a little bonding session between Anna and Summer, Seth assumes that Anna has told Summer about them. She hadn't, so they both sit her down and tell her. She is eerily fine with it. Too fine. And after a clever shot at Anna, she agrees that they can be friends.
Sandy arrives at the police station to find Ryan and Oliver. He agrees to help Oliver out. And Ryan tells Oliver to tell Marissa the truth about himself. He does. And Ryan feels better. Oliver confides that he feels lonely and that everyone he knows has left him. Ryan tells him that he's got new friends now. The love is thick.
Meanwhile at the Cohen's, Sandy and Hailey have a mini heart-to-heart, and Hailey decides she might stay in Newport for a while. It isn't what she wants, but she'll try it out, and figure things out as they come. Marissa drops by the poolhouse and thanks Ryan for helping Oliver out. They smooch, and Seth, Luke, Anna, and Summer all walk in. They all go into the house to play Playstation together. Aww. Outside, Oliver looks on.
