Ep 13:
Ryan (and the World) is officially introduced to the holiday Chrismukkah, thanks to Seth. Seth was raised in a bi-religious home, with his father being Jewish, and his mother a Christian. Kirsten and Sandy never really knew how to raise Seth, so he created his own holiday. They have Hanukkah and Christmas, and all the treats that come with both. And Seth loves it. He is a busy little Elf, and has arranged to give Summer and Anna the same gift packages. He is loving the playing of both of them. But he insists that he has Jesus and Moses both on his side.
Marissa decides to take Ryan shopping after he tells her that he feels bad about not getting the Cohens anything. They have a blast dancing through the mall of perfection and beauty, but the day ends without gifts, and with Marissa being contained for shoplifting. In the aftermath, at Jimmy's, Julie feuds and makes it all about her. She won't be embarrassed at her party tonight. Both Julie and Jimmy know that Marissa has been through a lot lately, but they are confused about why she would do something like this. They insist she attends therapy. Marissa is obviously hesitant, but agrees.
At the office, Kirsten and Caleb butt heads over the wetlands once again, and so Kirsten decides to take her very first holiday from the company. While going through her books, she finds something that might be helpful to Sandy's case against her father. She gives it to him reluctantly, but knowing it is the right thing.
Seth presents Ryan with his very own family stocking. He's touched, but of course shows no reaction. Later, Anna shows up at the Cohen house, with mistletoe in tow. Summer shows up shortly after with her own batch of mistletoe. The three agree to go to the party together. Anna and Summer reveal that they both have gifts to give Seth, but later. Marissa has a little outburst with Ryan, about how she isn't going to go to therapy. No one else in her family does, why should she? But perhaps she should, Marissa has brought a little batch of alcohol along, secretly.
At the party, Seth arrives with a woman on each arm, but quickly leaves to find Ryan when they begin to tug. Outside, Ryan is smooching away with Marissa when Julie comes up and interrupts. The two have a little tiff as they are still not seeing eye to eye about the therapy issue. Marissa storms off leaving Julie and Ryan to say how much they hate the holidays. Back inside, Sandy serves Caleb with the secret document that Kirsten provided, the document that will make Caleb lose his fight over the wetlands. Of course, Caleb is caught off-guard, and is furious at the arrogance of Sandy.
Anna gets to the gift-giving with Seth. She gives him a comic book that she made all about him. It is touching to a guy obsessed with comics. Summer looks on. Inside, Marissa goes to the washroom, where she downs a gulp of liquor. It is disgusting, but it makes her feel better. It's Summer's turn to give Seth his gift. She puts the spotlight on, and reveals a little, very little wonder woman costume. Seth is going to pass out. Just then, Anna walks in. Both Summer and Anna feel ridiculous about their gifts. The girls then decide that Seth has to decide between them, someone will get hurt if he doesn't. They then leave him in the dark.
Out on the dance floor, Marissa bombards Ryan with her drunk self, and he gets angry, insisting that she seek help. Marissa storms off and gets into her car. Ryan tries to stop her but she does that well enough on hr own, she back her car into the car behind her. Everyone at the party gathers for an announcement by Caleb. He announces that he has agreed to sell the wetlands to an environmental holding group for a dollar. Everyone is pleased, except Caleb of course.
On the road home, Marissa breaks out the vodka, which disgusts Ryan. Of course, a police officer pulls them over. Turns out the pull-over was just for a broken tail light, but it was enough to scare Ryan and Marissa into realizing that she needs therapy.
Seth tries his hardest to be friends with both Anna and Summer, but they both reject him by telling him that they don't want to be his friend. They both return his gifts. And he sits alone with the Goonies. Caleb is angered by Kirsten's backstabbing, but tells her it is what will make her an excellent real estate mogul.
Marissa goes to the therapists office, where she meets a dashing tall dark and handsome young man named Oliver. He doesnât go to Harbour, but knows of her. Marissa is embarrassed to start talking to this strange young man, but he presses on. He asks what is wrong with her. He sizes her up and hits pretty close to home. He's well versed in the therapy environment. Marissa is taken by Oliver.
Back at the Cohen's, Ryan hangs up his stocking. Four is a family.
